Can I Use a MacBook to Upload Accounting Data?

Modified on Fri, 23 Oct at 10:59 AM

When providing your financial data through an Accounting Upload case, you may use a MacBook to manually attest to your financial information or connect to supported cloud-based accounting software. However, MacBooks are not supported for direct connections to desktop accounting software.

Cloud-Based Accounting Software

If you use cloud-based accounting software, such as QuickBooks Online or Xero, you can connect your accounting data through Validis using a supported web browser, including:

  • Google Chrome (latest version)

  • Mozilla Firefox (latest version)

  • Microsoft Edge (latest version)

Desktop Accounting Software

If you use desktop accounting software, such as QuickBooks Desktop or Sage 50, you cannot connect directly to Validis using a MacBook.

Validis uses Microsoft ClickOnce technology and requires a Windows operating system with Microsoft .NET Framework 4.8 or later to connect to desktop accounting software.

For additional information, please refer to the Validis Connect Technical Specifications.
